Love your clothes, protect your budget (III) - The importance of hanging your clothes outdoor to let them breathe fresh air
After
talking about the best ways of washing your clothes (here) and of drying them (here), today we follow the topic on protecting your FFP (Forever Friend Pieces)
to make them last longer talking about the importance of airing out your pieces.

to check some good reasons to hang your clothes in the open air for some hours
to let them breathe:
· - Do
not hang your clothes in your closet neither pile them into drawers immediately
after taking them off. Hanging your pieces outside for some hours may allow you to skip a washing, thus avoiding overwash;
necessárias;
· - Your
clothes may need to catch some fresh air to get rid of undesired smells (as
kitchen smells or even perfume) but that does not mean they necessarily need to
be washed, try to evaluate piece by piece everyday if they can be worn again
before going to wash;
a caso se as peças podem ser usadas uma vez mais antes de irem para a lavagem;
· - There
isn’t a good rule to follow on this item, you have to use your best judge and
act accordingly several factors: the weather conditions (heat and humidity
matters); the level of physical activity you performed that day (for instances if
you went for a walk, if you went shopping or if you cooked); the places you
attended (restaurant, bars, hospital). Of course you must wash a white shirt
every time you wear it, but this does not apply to dresses or sweaters. Wash
them if you fell they really need to, if not, hang them adequately and place
them outside for some hours (if you don’t have a balcony, hang them outside
your closet near an open window);
Separe a peça
janela aberta);
· - Hanging
outdoors is particularly important for thicker pieces as outerwear and wool clothes
that are more likely to absorb smells.
