Impõe-se falar da tendência mais marcante da estação (…aquela de que nos vamos fartar mais cedo!) – animal print!!!

Let’s speak of the most striking trend of the season (... the one that will also fed us up fast!) - animal print !!!

Depois de termos vindo a assistir nas últimas estações a um regresso desta tendência, em peças para misturar com outros padrões ou em acessórios, o padrão animal afirma-se agora de forma diferente. Por um lado, para usar em look total (sim, leu bem, dos pés à cabeça, como aliás as outras tendências OI 2018/19) e, por outro lado, abandonando o monopólio do leopardo e abrindo espaço para que o resto da selva dê também um ar da sua graça: vivam as cobras, as panteras e as zebras.

After a more shy come back on last seasons – specially to mix with other patterns or to wear in accessories – animal print stands out for itself this FW 18. Use it in total look (yes, you read it well, from head to toe, as the other season trends) and abandon the monopoly of the leopard, this autumn there is room for all the jungle animals: long live the snakes, the panthers and the zebras.

Para quem tem mais de 50 anos, os padrões animais têm uma vantagem – não são (só) próprios para meninas e temos sempre idade para os usar! …MAS, isto pode ser também a maior dificuldade, facilmente podem ter um ar vulgar, pesado ou de mulher fatal (que ninguém quer!).

For those over 50, animal print have an advantage - they are not only for girls and we are always old enough to wear them! ... BUT, this can also turn to be the biggest difficulty: it can easily make you look older, cheap or fatal (no one wants that!).

Se quiser aderir ao look total (sim, por favor) deve desconstruí-lo para lhe tirar peso e seriedade – evite os saltos altos e finos para não ficar com o tal ar fatal, pode usar saltos mas mais grossos; escolha um casaco de uma cor garrida mas fuja dos de pelo; evite o padrão leopardo na versão vermelha; use acessórios divertidos e fuja das pérolas e correntes douradas; botins e malas brancas (indispensáveis neste outono) podem ser aliados preciosos.

If you want to hold to the overall look (yes, please), you must deconstruct it to take off the the excess it may have – avoid stilettos, you can use high heels but thicker; choose a coat of a flashy color but avoid the fur; avoid the red version of leopard pattern; use fun accessories and avoid pearls and gold chains; white boots and white bags (indispensable this fall) can be precious allies.

Lembre-se que o estampado animal em look total é um statement por si, tudo o resto deve ser para ironizar. Escolha o seu animal preferido e vá à selva muitas vezes durante este outono mas sem cair em armadilhas de estilo!

Remember that animal print in total look is a statement by itself, everything else should be to tease. Choose your favorite animal and visit the jungle during this fall but without falling into style traps!

ps. O estampado animal por ser uma tendência muito marcante é também muito efémera. É certo que regressa sempre passado pouco tempo, mas ainda assim não faça investimentos muito avultados. O esplendor desta estação está a ser tão acentuado que não se arrastará para o próximo ano (mas isto é só a minha opinião).

ps. Animal print being a very striking trend is also very ephemeral one. It keeps coming back again and again, but nevertheless don’t make large investments. The splendor of this FW is so sharp that it will not stay until next year (but that's just my opinion).

Max Mara é sem duvida a minha preferida nesta tendência (em em muitas outras ☺), mas se o seu orçamento não permitir tanto, a Zara tem excelentes opções, divertidas, despretensiosas e muito variadas.

For animal print (and for a lot more ☺) Max Mara is undoubtedly my favorite, but if your budget does not allow it, Zara has great options, fun, unpretentious and wide-ranging.
